Ruth Elizabeth Lambert, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born March 12, 1924, in Boone County, W.Va.

Ruth attended several churches in Logan County during her long life, the last being Word of Life Church, when able. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian throughout her whole life.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Charles Edward Lambert; son, Charles H. "Bubby" Lambert; daughter, Barbara Jean Lambert Moore; her parents, Lacy and Dicie Susan Nelson, James Wade Sommervillle, and Esther (Howard) Vannatter; four brothers, Roncie Nelson, Luther Sommerville, Gene Vannatter, and Harry Vannatter, and sister Merle Nelson.

She is survived by daughters: Adena (Keith) Beckett of Cheboygan, Mich.; Linda (Frank) Waugh of Chapmanville; 14 grandchildren: Dr. Tammy Beckett-Reese, Ronald K., II (Melissa) Beckett, Eric (Danielle) Beckett, Anthony (Jessica) Beckett, Kimberely (Thomas) Orr, Steven Lambert, Michael Lambert, April Lambert, C.J. Lambert, Sonia Moore Sells, U.S. Air Force Master Sargent (retired) Robert, II (Allison) Lucas, Brian (Summer) Waugh, Ryan Waugh, Jillian (Jarrod) Abbott; four sisters: Mary Butler, Sedra Brown, Phyllis Horne, and Barbara Burright; five brothers: Clarence Vannatter, Loma Vannatter, Thomas Vannatter, Max Vannatter, and Thomas Lambert, and Ronnie Barrett of Henlawson (like a son and faithful friend and helper to Ruth and Charles); 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and gratefulness to Dr. Sathish and Dr. Rahda, and their office employees, to her caregiver and friend Molly Fulton, Dignity Home Health and their kind employees, Pastors Josh and Conswella VanHook, and all the loving and caring people at Word of Life Church.

Ruth's favorite saying was, "Jesus loves you and so do I." Her constant prayer was that everyone would come to know Jesus as their Savior as she did.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, at Highland Memory Gardens Chapel and will be conducted by Pastor Josh VanHook.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan.
