Obituary for Frank Piccirillo

Frank Piccirillo
Frank Piccirillo, 88, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Frank was married for 57 years to the love of life, the late Louise (Stuckey) Piccirillo. His greatest joy was having his home filled with the love and laughter of his children: Charles (Melinda) of Madison, WV, Mark of Cincinnati, OH, and Mary Anne (Al) Pirro of Rutherfordton, NC; his five grandchildren: Angela (Josh) Mason and Katie (Ben) Sherman of Charlotte, NC, Camille (John) Evans and Allison Piccirillo of Chapmanville, WV, and Will Pirro of Rutherfordton, NC; and his eight great-grandchildren: Rylee, Madi, Olivia, Cooper, Ella, Henry, Addie and Bria as well as the many nieces and nephews he considered his own.

Frank was born on October 1, 1928 to Vito and Madelina Piccirillo. He was one of five children: Tony, John and Betty Webb, deceased; Nick (Betty) of Dayton, OH survives.

He proudly served our country as an Air Force Staff Sergeant in the Korean War. Upon discharge, Frank began his career as a general contractor serving mainly the gasoline industry in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky. After retiring, he began his second career overseeing construction for Logan General Hospital.

Frank’s work life may have been building with brick and mortar but, his most important life’s work was the relationships he built with people – always giving freely a helping hand, encouragement or a good talking to when needed.

The Piccirillo family thanks all of the friends, family and professionals who reached out to make their dad’s days peaceful and happy, especially Dr. Billy Mullen, Debbie Farris, Miller and Judy Cope, Logan Regional Medical Center’s nursing and therapy staffs and Dignity Hospice staff.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to share in the celebration of Frank’s life on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Logan, WV. Visitation with family will be at 11am followed by the funeral service at 1pm with internment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill.

Pallbearers are Josh Mason, Ben Sherman, John Evans, Ryan Hogg, Jeff Hess and Robert Lewis. Honorary pallbearers include Miller Cope, Leonard Codispoti, Rick Abraham, Mike Allie, Robert Kinser, Carlos Evans, C. David Morrison and Harold McMillan.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Frank with a donation to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Logan; Dignity Hospice House, Chapmanville or by reaching out to someone who could use a friend.
