Obituary for Roger Williamson

Roger  Williamson
Roger Lee Williamson age 69, of Logan, WV went to join his heavenly Father on Saturday December 9, 2017.

Born on May 28. 1948 he was the son of Lorene Williamson and the late Earl Williamson. He was preceded in death by: one sister, Donna Kromelis, and two nephews, Jeffrey Williamson and David Williamson.

Roger was a faithful member of Faith Freewill Baptist church, at Stollings, WV. Roger was a well accomplished artist that captured life in the coalfields with his paintings and hard hats. He loved his family dearly and had such a caring and giving heart.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Joann Williamson. Also left to cherish his memory are his children Shannon (Anna) Lancaster, of Chapmanville, Leslie Hunter of Logan, Danny (Amanda) Williamson of Winfield. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Hannah (Jason) Stowers, Breanna Lancaster, Logan Hunter, Braxton Williamson and Paetyn Williamson, he loved with all his heart. Roger leaves behind four sisters and one brother. Judy (Vinco) Lukin, of Woodridge, IL, Jean Childers of Verdunville, David Williamson of Logan, Debbie (Billy) Russell of Verdunville, tammy (Paul) Miller of Charleston SC, and Sharon (Randy) Skeens, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday December 15 at Akers-James Funeral Home at Logan with Revs. Billy Manuel & Shane Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Friends and family may call from 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday December 14, also at the funeral home.
